I have a theory that those with real expertise in the ML / AI field are those who are most deeply skeptical about it’s abilities as touted by the fan bois.

In my experience, they can’t wait for the bubble to burst so they can get on with the real, useful, applications that ML can achieve.

The converse is also true. Those with the least knowledge of these technologies are the most vocal about their impending dominance.
